Hi There,
If you are new to this blog, then you are probably wondering what it's all about.
Basically from the 23rd May 2015 until the 22nd May 2016 I limited my wardrobe to 35 items including shoes, hats, scarves and gloves.
Why? Partly to raise money for Contact A Family, a brilliant charity working on alleviating the financial impact of raising a disabled child (did you know 65% of families with disabled children report going without essentials like clothes in order to meet the costs of raising their child? Shocking huh? - If that makes you feel like donating you can do so here)
Partly because I wanted to simplify my life a bit and getting a handle on my clothes shopping feels like a great place to start.
You can read about where the idea for the challenge came from here, and the extent of my clothes buying issues in What
doesn’t a capsule wardrobe look like?
The year was brilliant. We held some great events in partnership with Soho House you can read about the life drawing dinner party here - and the epic clothes swapping event here.
The final total isn't in yet - but the year raised well over £5000 in all. If you fancy donating the just giving page is still open.
At the end of the year - I realised much more had changed than my wardrobe - that by redirecting my energy away from buying stuff I'd got happier. So the blog has changed a bit. I'm still blogging about buying and wearing less, but I'm also thinking a lot about happiness.
